Supporting Youth Voice in Change

We are students from all over Vermont joining together for racial equity and justice in all VT schools. With our voices, we can and will make a difference. We hope to undertake projects to actively make changes in our schools from kindergarten to twelfth grade, educate ourselves and our communities about anti-racism, promote honest dialogue and ensure the voices of students and educators of color are heard.

As recipients of a Vermont Community Foundation Spark Grant, VSARN developed The Book Project, using grant funds to bring diverse, anti-racist books into classrooms across the state along with curricular resources and youth-led facilitation opportunities. (This project has an elementary school focus.)

Motivated by results from a statewide youth survey on anti-racist teaching in schools and grounded in personal experience, VSARN students launched the Color of Law Project. Click through the presentation and Contact a youth facilitator to learn more about connecting in your classroom! (This project has a high school focus.)
